現在の全インターネットの日々のトラフィックの2%は一つの動画ストリーミングサイトから来ているのだ。それがかの有名なエロ動画ストリーミングサイトYouPornである。
プライマリのデータストアは100%Redisだそうだ。Redisの巨大クラスタを組んでいるそう。パーシステントストアとしてMySQLを使っていて、フロントアプリはPHPで書いてあり、Ngnixがwebサーバー、HAProxyとVarnishでロードバランシングして、どこかは明らかでないけれど商用CDNを使っているそうだ。

個人的にはこれが本質だと思うし、だとすると以前のレベルに戻ることはビジネスモデル自体が大きく転換しない限りまず無いと思う。
世にミリオンが連発してた頃は、視聴率の高いドラマのテーマソング→カラオケ→歌番組というエコシステムがあって、流行りの歌を知らないとコミュニケーションしづらかったと記憶している。だいたい90年代後半から00年代の前半かな。

昨晩、ふとこのネタを思い出して、「その場所に自分はいない理想郷」ってある意味ナウシカ的ユートピアだよな、と。ナウシカ（原作版）は理想郷の有り方を知ってはいたし、その実現方法も知っていたけど、その理想郷に自分たちは生きることができないことも知っていた。以下、稲葉振一郎の『ナウシカ解読―ユートピアの臨界』からの要約。
